We"ve always believed that dining should be a social occasion, a time when friends, family, and coworkers can enjoy great conversation over a great meal. We believe in supporting our local artisans and staying connected to our Black Hills community. At a time when the area is growing and expanding, we're striving to keep the flavor of the region alive. Inspired by the history of this area, both the aesthetics of the building and the diversity of the menu are true to our local roots, something no nation-wide franchise can duplicate. Certainly, there are other steakhouses out there, but none like ours. From the first design to the actual construction, we've focused on creating a balance between upscale dining and a casual atmosphere-crafting a chic steakhouse where the kids are welcome too. The rest is easy-buy the very best meat possible and prepare it correctly.

For the price, the food and service fall short of a quality restaurant. Longhorn Steak House has better food, better service, for a much cheaper price. I spent 2 hours waiting at Dakota and had 2 different rib eyes brought to me, both of which were tough and difficult to cut with a knife. The prime rib we ordered had no flavor and was not as tender as prime rib should be. This restaurant was sub-par compared to all of the other steak houses Rapid City has to offer. It has a nice atmosphere, but the quality of your food is not worth your time or money.

Nice, upscale atmosphere. Surprisingly quite, even with a full-house. Music was low-key, to the point that I don't really remember what kind it was. The service was great and meal was paced well. We had a reservation, but fir others, there was a shirt wait. Great place to eat. The arugula was fantastic if you're into that. I had the lamb chops rare, which were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Many meals come with soup or salad, as well as a side. Buffalo is served, and is sort of the theme of the place, but not in a tacky way. There's a fairly extensive drink menu, as the place has a full bar. Wine, liquor, draft and other beer, as well as Pepsi products. There was an entire section of the menu devoted to Buffalo Trace bourbon, which I had. Deserts also available.

Enjoyed a great steak and baked potato to-go during Covid period driving thru Rapid on way to Custer State Park. Well done and great service considering what nation was going thru. Can't wait to come and enjoy sit down service post-Covid. Thanks again for being open and hospitable to travelers passing thru!

Had an amazing dining experience here!! Our server, Marisa, was wonderful and attentive. I ordered the Dakotah Burger and Apple Crisp. The fry bread was delicious!!! Make reservations to make sure you get a table. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful restaurant with great food and a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered the 12 oz. Sirloin with a baked potato and my business partner ordered the buffalo. Both dishes were superb. Well done Dakotah.**update- I went there 2 days later and ordered the same thing this time to go.

This place was amazing. It was a veritable Noah's Ark in terms of animals, to eat! Bison, buffalo, elk, cow, deer, walleye, and much more! Their sides were great. The service was fast and friendly. The beer selection was great!!! I'm only here for 8 days but I'll definitely go back

Went to dinner with my parents to enjoy a nice night together. The food and service were excellent. Our waiter was attentive without being a distraction. May dad and I each enjoyed the BBQ Buffalo Rib which was fall off the bone tender. My mom said the Walleye was outstanding. I am planning on returning with my wife for Valentine's Day.

Thank you for being open late during COVID. Friendly server, beautiful decor. We did not enjoy our meals, however. The $50 steak was full of gristle from the first bite. Caesar salad w anchovies was good, tho, and so was the free fry bread. Pheasant poppers were not too bad.

Dakotah Steakhouse provides a relax atmosphere and an elegant steakhouse feel that is above traditional expectations. If I’m being honest the meal wasnt bad but it also wasn’t amazing. The salad and bread with homemade butter were delicious. The main course was where I was hoping for more. Overall, 4 star environment, 4 star sides but price tag attached to under met expectations with main course dragged my rating to a 3 star.

My husband ordered the 12 oz sirloin and I ordered the 6 oz sirloin. I always have my steaks well done. My steak was cooked perfectly. Very juicy throughout entire steak. Asparagus wrapped with bacon was tasty too. My husband and I were happy with our entire meal and service was very good too.

Steak was not cooked to correct temperature...and waitress did not check on us for ten minutes after our food came. Instead of being medium well...it was burnt on the outside and basically raw on the inside. They did offer to recook steak and make a new one, but I chose not to because my party was almost done with their meal. They did take my meal off the check, which was very nice. However, I do feel that there are probably better steak options in Rapid City. I would not go back.

Very good food and helpful staff, we order ahead to go because of covid and website to order from was a little difficult to use but staff called to follow up on the order and ask if we needed anything else.
